tomteriffic Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Loves me some Gate and this is him on top of his game! Thanks! Interesting, his hat is from a late lamented jazz club here in Dayton. When I hear "Pressure Cooker" I always think of Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker, an assemblage created for Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. Imagine a whole room of musicians jammed in together, asses to elbows, everybody playing and singing together, no overdubs and the whole affair going directly to a disc cutting lathe. That meant the band had to play through an entire album side perfectly or the whole side had to be redone. Only a very few discs were actually pressed from that master, ultimate fidelity being the goal. The shop I worked at had a copy, reserved for showing off only the highest end stereo systems.
Jakeboy Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Gatemouth was great! I have some of his really early stuff and love it.
