Made the pilgrimage up from Central Pennsyltucky to Mike’s Magic Shop on Thursday with Joe C to pick up these two beauties and hang with Mike and Phil.  The ten and a half hour ride felt like a few minutes with all of the excitement!

The backs are pretty impressive too!  I’m sure that we’ll see some more “glamour shots”…

You are correct, sir!  It’s Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl wrap.

Never heard of that as a finish for a guitar but these look absolutely fabulous. I'm a little jealous now 😉 ...and inspired :-)

…and the Ludwig has a Rail Tail vibrato bridge…..!!! I wanna know how it plays and holds tune.

Hey there!  I had problems with it returning to pitch-you had to flick it like some Kahlers or a Floyd with worn-out knife-edges on the studs.  The culprit turned out to be a supremely simple fix-there was some daylight at the back where the bridge plate was not flush with the top of the body, so I tightened the claw screws a few turns to bring it flush and it’s great now.

I’m not going to ask how came up with that idea.  But it’s spectacular.

the rail tail’s look fits that guitar well

Mike used the same tuning machines on 0091.  Different buttons though. I asked if there was a performance characteristic that he favored with these, and the response was something like, they work and they look cool.

I've become a fan of those Hipshots, especially since Sperzel's quality has dropped a bit over the last few years.  I've put the HS lockers on a few builds already, and they're smooth, precise and lightweight.

Good stuff!

I concur on the Hipshot lockers. Excellent tuners.

A new batch of pics from the master himself of #0069…super lightweight Korina body, mega-flamed maple neck, jet black ebony board with white Pearl/abalone inlays, Ludwig Blue Pearl wrap, a TV Jones Super’Tron and a Floyd Rose Rail Tail.  The back looks more blue in most lighting, but some of the pics have an aqua look to them.
