Supporting the HFC?

I've contributed in the past to the support/maintenance/upgrade or upkeep costs of the HFC but I don't remember how.  I think I just PayPal'd Ted?  Anyway, it seems like a long time since anyone made a post saying "don't forget this site isn't free to run" so I guess that's what I'm doing now.  If someone could refresh my memory on how to contribute to the operating costs, I would appreciate it.

Happy Birthday to me!

Thanks to the people who have sent me emails asking about contributing to the cause. Perfect timing as while doing this year taxes my wife started questioning me about the over 2k I've spend on the server over the last couple years. Since we havent done it in a couple years I guess now is as good a time as any.

Here's the details Become a supporting member of the HFC and help defray the costs of having a our own server. (fyi, I do other personal stuff on the server but the HFC is the reason the server exists and it uses the vast majority of band width.)

In the past we have used the Happy meal model which is send me whatever you would spend on lunch during a typical day (Please god let them all be NYC Corporate Execs!)

In return you get the supporter tag and access to the wonderful world that is the outter circle which is a non hamer related virtual no holds barred cage match where the post run wild across the gamut of subjects. Being that all the participants are active HFCer's its different that other controversial messageboards since its harder to hide behind a screen name. Still that doesnt stop people from mixing it up. It's not just a battle royal as Jokes, Photoshop images, links, etc. also appear en masse.

Thanks!  That's pretty old though.  I hope Ted or someone else will chime in to say whether that is still the best way to do it, or to advise of any other options that might be available now.

I keep a note on my calendar for the 1st week of January every year. I try to send a bit more than a Happy Meal, but somewhat less than a new guitar.

What would be the best method for non-US members to contribute?  Not sure I'm able to send PayPal or Venmo to the US without hassle, and not sure how much a cheque in CAD$ would be appreciated....

I‘m paypaling effortlessly to Ted from good old Europe. Nothing simpler than that.

You can send it USD with PayPal for certain. I’ve done it and will do it again now . It’ll convert the CAD equivalent for you.

Easy. At the HFC Message Center, ou'll have five, not four, choices, including the Outer Circle.

Might not be instantaneous. Give the mods a bit of time to see that you've donated, and they will push the buttons that make it happen.

Or you can hit one of the mods up and let them know that you paid for the tits but can't see any.
