Well, a Mirage won't scratch that itch, but you literally can't go wrong on this deal. Even if you don't want the amp, you take it and sell it to recoup some money, donate it, give it to a friend...

A friend in a crappy band I was in around '86 had a Peavey Bandit (iirc), always sounded terrible to me, and it always seemed that it was pointed right at me. I repeatedly told him he needed something better (this friend still has a T-62 I turned him onto for cheap 20+ years ago). A couple of years later I was in another crappy band in college, and the other guitar player got a 'new' used amp, guess what it was and who he bought it from?
Steve Haynie Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 The Peavey Bandit was a step up in the Peavey line for people who wanted to venture beyond their tiny entry-level amps. For what they were, they were good. For the purpose of being a great amp, they were never meant to be one of those. Back to the topic-- @nasonm did you get the Hamer or not? If not, tell us where you are so someone else can snag this great deal if it is not too late.
nasonm Posted October 11, 2023 Author Posted October 11, 2023 Update: bought it. It needs a good cleaning and polishing on all hardware but other than a few small nicks, it's in pretty great shape.

The Mirage line is cool.
Steve Haynie Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 In case you do not like the guitar... I am willing to pay you $350 for the Mirage. You should be able to get $450 for the amp with no problem. You will not lose money. We take care of each other around here.
crunchee Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 I'm glad somebody got it for that price. Too much talk rarely ends well when it comes to pulling the trigger:
nasonm Posted October 12, 2023 Author Posted October 12, 2023 A lot of polishing, cleaning, restringing, and setting up and it looks pretty great!
Cboss Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Really beautiful..what is the weight on these? What pickups?
tbonesullivan Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Definitely a nice score! Those are great guitars.

I personally do not like the JB at all. The 59 sounded good, but not great in mine. So, I had @JGravelin rewind them for me. HUGE improvement. For reference, my Mirage II weighs 8.6 lbs whereas my Mirage I weighs 7.8 lbs. worth noting that the II and the Maple top have thicker bodies than the I’s do.
kizanski Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 I love it when a plan comes together. This is the HFC doing HFC shit.

That is a really interesting option I hadn't thought of, I have a 25th anniversary that has a custom custom and I believe a 59 in it and they are okay but I'm not crazy about them, I've really been wishing that guitar could sound better

Or Josh. Or Jeff.
kizanski Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 My old MII with Rio Grande pickups and 5-way Superswitch. @Jeff R called it a PRS killer.
