Any Kemper Experts?

Would this (Kemper Profiler Player):

Plus this (Kemper Power Kabinet):

...equal a simple, reliable, portable but worthwhile rig for general purpose playing in a band setting?  Total cost is $698 + $789 = $1,500(ish).

To me it seems a reasonably priced means of getting into the (better) modeling universe without breaking the bank.  I ask because I have no way of trying this out without buying it.  YouTube only gets me so far.

If you just want to set up sounds to use, yes.  If you want to do the amp capture/profiling, the player won't do that.   Haven't tried either, so I can't comment about them, but Kemper has a good reputation.

I play a Kemper Stage Profiler and two powered cabs.  Love it.  I use Michael Britt and Top Jimmy profiles.  I think the Player would be great, but the Stage is so much better in that you can use Stomp effects easily and have much more control over each profile.  If I were doing a gig with just a few sounds all night, I'd go with the Player.

@GrappaGreen's post was a great counter to the sales schpeel - I really don't need all of the capability of the Stage, but the functionality that @scottcald and @The Shark point out make the additional cost seem worth it.

Unfortunately, that puts the all-in cost over what makes sense in my current situation (solo gig approximately every Saturday in Madison Square Bedroom).

Fun ideas to consider, however.  Thanks for all the points.

It does have MIDI, so if it's just switches you miss, that's easy enough to add.  I've seen some companies make purpose built MIDI switches that just plug in for HX Stomp etc., so they'd probably do that here too.
