santellavision Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 (edited) SOLD! Friedman Runt 20 Modded by Dave Friedman Friedman Runt 20 with 3rd Channel and Thump mods. The 3rd channel just makes this amp even more versatile for gigging. You still get the great sounding clean channel, the overdrive channel and lastly a 3rd lead setting. Add to that, the Boost switch adds even more gain if needed. There is now a ‘Concentric’ Master volume control knob to control the levels of the two Overdrive channels. Plus, Dave's ‘Thump’ control for more bottom end control. Both mods were done by Dave at the Friedman factory. It comes with a 2-button Friedman foot-switch. Clean on/off on button 1 and OD 1/2 on Button 2. Trust me, this amp can get LOUD. The master volume works really nice and sounds good. Its the perfect small club amp. Hits that sweet spot of cranked tone so the FOH sound-person doesn't yell at you. Also features an XLR cab emulated out that sounds really nice for recording or live plus an EFX Loop too. The amp works and sounds great, no issues. The mods from Friedman will run you about $300 plus shipping if you are considering having it done later. I owned a regular Runt 20 and this is now a way more versatile amp. Comes with an A/C cord, 2-button foot-switch/cable. SOLD! $1,000. Shipped/Paypal'd (A PPFF would be great if you know me) Not interested in any trades on this one - thx. Message with any questions. Edited June 3, 2024 by santellavision 7 Quote
scottcald Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Just so I'm understanding how Dave does these (not being the super amp aficionado that many here are), the boost adds different levels of clean boost in front, where his Structure switch actually modifies the amp's gain control, correct? Quote
santellavision Posted May 20, 2024 Author Posted May 20, 2024 (edited) On this amp, the Clean channel is on its own with just a volume and a 3-way Bright switch. Its very Fendery sounding. But, it can get a nice pushed clean when cranked for bluesy stuff. The first OD channel is the standard Runt crunch which is what the amp is known for. Then, the added 3rd channel has even more gain available. Great for taking it even further or perfect for solos etc. There is also a 'Boost' switch which can add more gain if needed. On this amp, there isn't a 'Structure' Switch. There is just a bright switch and boost switch. Edited May 20, 2024 by santellavision 1 Quote

tbonesullivan Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 That is an awesome deal for a fantastic amp! I wish i was in the market. What does the "PULL MAST 2" on the THUMP control do? Quote

That's how my Rivera R55 is, and honestly I never use the boost on the footswitches, as it's more of a "voicing" boost than just a signal boost. Quote
santellavision Posted May 25, 2024 Author Posted May 25, 2024 (edited) On the regular Runt 20's, the boost switch is fixed. It adds more gain and not adjustable. With this mod, the concentric master volume knob lets you set the volume of both channels 2 & 3. So, it kinda' like a boost, but adjustable. Very flexible.
